If you want to reinstall Windows Media Player, try the following:
Thanks for your quick reply. I have gone to Apple and found the DOWNLOAD OS X El Capitan 10.11.6 Combo Update download button. When I click on it, it looks like the download goes directly into my downloads folder, but then the folder in there is grayed out and the white dot in the bar is not moving even after 10 minutes. Click the Start button, type features, and select Turn Windows features on or off.
Scroll down and expand Media Features, clear the Windows Media Player check box, and click OK.
Restart your device. Windows Media Player should be uninstalled.
Repeat step 1.
Scroll down and expand Media Features, select the Windows Media Player check box, and click OK.
Restart your device. Windows Media player should now be reinstalled.
